I would like to take a moment to wish all of our supporters a very Merry Christmas! Christmas is a time where we celebrate the love of family and friends and give each other gifts. Family is so important to God and giving gifts reflects His heart. Romans 8:32 tells us “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?” As you spend time celebrating the birth of Jesus this Christmas, remember God sent Jesus, a gift of infinite worth, to reflect his generous heart of love for you.

Today, the reason you are part of the family of God, is because Jesus came into this world. You have eternal life and all of God’s blessing because Jesus came into this world. Because Jesus came into this world, all your sin is forgiven and all your sickness is healed. Jesus took care of everything on the Cross.

Mahatma Gandhi said “there are people in this world that are so poor that God would not come to them unless it was in the form of bread.” I believe that’s how Jesus came. He lay aside His majesty, the splendor and glory of heaven to come and be born as a human being, arriving in this world in a humble stable, with a manger for his bed. Jesus came to humanity in the form of a humble loaf of bread.

When the Angel came to the shepherds and told them about the birth of Christ, the bible says that “Suddenly, a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.'” (Luke 2:13,14)

There was such a great celebration in heaven because Jesus had arrived on the earth. I’m sure this great host was singing their praise of God for sending Jesus, they were amazed at the lengths God was willing to go to redeem and restore humanity. It was also a celebration of what it meant for you and me. This was the great turning point of history for humanity. The time had finally arrived, when everything would change for everyone who believed.

I love how this scripture says ‘Suddenly.’ When God’s time arrives all kind of suddenlies happen. What a shock these humble shepherds must have had when the Angel showed up! They must have been awestruck by the heavenly choir! The glory and majesty of heaven descended to meet the lowliness and humility of humanity.

Many times that is where God will show up, in the humble places, the lowly places, the places where you would least expect Him to show up! As we head into this Christmas celebration time, I am believing for some heavenly suddenlies for your life. That all of a sudden you would encounter God in such a way that it will take your breath away.

Jesus parents had tried all the hotels and inns in town and there was no room except for a humble stable. (Luke 2) I want to encourage you to make some room for Jesus this Christmas. Many times God is looking for a place that is humble, and where He is welcome. I believe it is at Christmas time we need to say to God, “There is plenty of room at my place, come and visit me!”

Christmas can be a lonely time for some. Some have lost loved ones and at Christmas it makes it just that little bit harder. If that’s you today, I want to encourage you, Jesus said, He would never leave you or forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) He’s always there. I pray this Christmas God fill your heart with His tremendous love for you and that you would know Jesus as the friend that sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24)

Maybe you have been believing God to show up in some area of your life. I want to encourage you at this time, that God has His perfect time for everything, and when He does show up it will be suddenly. I want to encourage you to make room for Jesus this Christmas; invite him to come and be part of your Christmas celebrations and I just believe with you, that God will show up in incredible ways.
