Sometimes we feel like everything has been taken from us and we’re left with nothing. In John 10:10 Jesus tells us “the their comes to steal, to kill and destroy, but I have come that they might have life, and life abundantly!” The devil takes, and God gives. There are also situations in life where we go through things and there is absolutely no explanation that makes any sense. Today I want to encourage you that with every test life brings, God is at work to bring His best to you and through you. He is a God is a God of restoration.

Hosea 6:1-3 says “Come let us return unto the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; He has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us and on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

Hosea was the faithful husband married to the unfaithful wife, which represented God and a nation that had turned from His ways. Here in this passage, we see the cry of God’s heart for His people. Even if we are in a place of sin, and our lives have brought God’s disciplinary measures to bear on our lives, His heart is still to restore. Even if we are unfaithful, God is faithful and is at work bringing restoration to each of us. What a loving God we serve!

We sometimes have those moments when life deals tough blows and we have no idea how to make sense of it all. God’s desire is to heal our wounds and revive us. Sometimes our hardship and suffering is a result of our sin, sometimes it’s a result of the enemy’s attack and sometimes it’s persecution from others, as a result of our obedience to God; sometimes it’s not always apparent what the source of our difficulties and losses are.

Today I want to encourage you that no matter what the reason, God wants to heal you. He wants to bind up your wounds! God wants to revive and restore you. I believe there is a link between revival and restoration. The mission of Christ Himself was to bring restoration. Restoration of all that was lost at the fall. God wants to restore our relationship with Him; with eternal life, abundant life, health, holiness, wholeness, and His presence and glory in our lives.

No matter what we go through in this life, I believe God is ever so good, He is always at work causing all things to come together for our good (Romans 8:28). Then Hosea 6:3 tells us, “as the sun rises, He will appear.” God is the One who created the sun, how much more will He show up when we need Him! Every day the sun rises and no one seems to get too excited, we just know that somehow there is something inevitable about it. We know we can depend on it.

And this serves to let us know that in the right season of time, God will appear; we can totally depend on it. It’s also saying, He will come to us like the winter and spring rains that water the earth. I just want to encourage you, there may have been a dry season in your life, but the rain will come! And even though life has brought some tough things your way, I believe God is about to come to you like the rain. A rain of refreshing and restoration.

God wants to refresh you for the season ahead. He is coming to restore all that you have lost. Maybe the devil has stolen from you; God wants to restore what has been stolen today. Maybe there are some areas of your life where you haven’t been walking with Him; today He wants to restore your relationship with Him. Christ’s salvation is humanity’s restoration. Faith in Christ’s finished work has the power to redeem and restore everything broken, everything lost.

Maybe you’re just feeling thirsty and dry; I believe you can depend on God… that in His time, He will come as surely as the sun rises; He will come as surely as the winter and summer rains on the earth; He will come to you like rain to revive and bring restoration. Today, I believe God is bringing a mighty miracle of restoration into your life.
