The book of Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us that “to everything there is an appointed season. And there is a time for every event under heaven.” Nature itself tells us that the sun goes down the sun comes up, the tides comes in and the tide goes out, there is a time to sow and a time to reap, a time of promise and a time of fulfilment.

Soon after He created the earth and humanity God spoke concerning His Son. “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” (Gen 3:15) This was a prophetic utterance that was fulfilled several thousand years later. Over a period of a thousand years, the Old testament was written and it contains more than three hundred additional references to Jesus Christ coming into this world.

Using the science of probability, the chances of just forty-eight of these prophecies being fulfilled in one person to be right at one in 10157 (a one followed by 157 zeros!). And these prophetic promises began to be fulfilled as Angel came to Mary and said “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” (Luke 1:27) The Angel explained everything to her and she responded “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her.” (Luke 1:38)

In due time Mary brought Jesus into the world, and we know there is a time of promise and a time of fulfillment, we know when a child is expected, when they come prematurely, when they are on time and when they are overdue. Of course Christ came on time, and He changed history and brought salvation to us all. “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John 1:14) And he lived and fulfilled in His lifetime so many thousands of promises God had made.

I want to encourage you today, because maybe you feel like you are in the overdue category. Maybe you are waiting for the promises of God to be fulfilled in your life and you are wondering if you will ever see them come to pass. There are spiritual principals God has in place in the Universe like the law of gravity, which tell us that what goes up, must come down. In a similar way when a spiritual seed is sown, like a promise from God, if we do our part to keep a good attitude we will see the birth and fulfillment of that promise in God’s time.

God does not bring us to a time of fulfillment and leave us hanging, He watches over His word to perform it. Abraham and Sarah had a promise they waited years for and the Bible says in Romans 4: 18-21 “against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead–since he was about a hundred years old–and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.”

God was not going to let Abraham down though he had waited long for the fulfillment of God’s promise and God is not going to let you down! When it is the time of fulfillment the miracles start happening. Isaiah 66:9 says “Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the LORD. “Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” says your God” And there are things God has spoken to many which are going to take a miracle for them to come to pass and God knows that. These are His opportunities to show us that He is God, to show us His faithfulness. I’m telling you if God has to do a miracle to fulfill His promise to you then He will do a miracle!

God knows there are times we grow weary in well doing, when we get tired of praying and believing, we look at the circumstances and we lose heart, but I want to encourage you to remember what God has spoken to you by His Word and by His Spirit, if you hang in there, God will do a miracle.

God spoke to Sarah and said “Is anything to hard for the Lord?” (Gen 18:14) Some people believe they are too sinful for God to forgive, some believe they are too sick for God to heal, some believe their circumstances are too difficult, too impossible for God to do anything. Some people believe God is incapable of making Himself, real, some don’t even believe in God.

Wherever you are at in your life today I want to encourage you – there is nothing too difficult for God to do, maybe you are believing God for the salvation of a loved one, maybe you are believing for a financial miracle, maybe a healing miracle, whatever you are faced with I want to encourage you even if your miracle is overdue, that means you are that much closer to a miracle, God is true to His Word, He will bring it to pass.
