There are times in our Christian lives when we grow weary from fighting the good fight of faith. Today I want to give you some encouragement – God will strengthen you! The One who began a good work in you will bring it to completion. (Phil. 1:6) The One who calls you is faithful and He will bring His Word to pass in your life. (1 Thess. 5:24) If you’re feeling weak, God’s grace is sufficient for you, His strength is made perfect in your weakness! (2 Cor. 12:9)

God knows we need his help to live the Christian life and to do the things He has called us to do. Philippians 4:13 tells us ”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” There are times in our Christian lives when we lack the strength to do what God requires and God is saying here, that He will give us the strength we need! God is so very gracious, so very merciful!

In Matthew 4, Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness fasting and praying and at end of that time, he was tempted of the enemy. When the enemy left him “angels came and ministered to Him.” (Matthew 4:11) Jesus had been in a tremendous battle with the enemy, and when it was over the Angels of God swooped in to minister to him. I don’t know what these Angels did, but let me tell you, spiritual warfare and the fight of faith can be tiring.

Maybe those Angels were releasing peace, rest and strength to Jesus. Ephesians 6:12 tells us ”For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” When you are a believer in Jesus, a follower of Jesus, there will be battles, you will have to wrestle. And wrestling can be tiring.

Ephesians 6:13-14 tells us that once we’ve put on the full armor of God, that we should stand. Sometimes it’s enough to stand in Christ’s finished work. It’s enough to hang in there until His strength comes. Isaiah 40:31 tells us “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Today God wants to strengthen you to continue this great fight of faith!

You may have been in some great spiritual battle in your life. I want to encourage you to speak the Word of God like Jesus did, “submit to God, resist the enemy and he will flee!” (James 4:7) You may be tired from all the fighting, but today I want to encourage you, God will strengthen you. He will send His Angels to minister to you! He will release the strength and grace you need to run and finish this race!
