Ihave heard some say God doesn’t respond to anything but faith. I believe God does respond to faith, but I believe he also responds to suffering and human need. John 3:16 the classic Gospel scripture tells us that “God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” God loves you! God loves all of humanity, that was His motivation for sending His Son; pure compassion for a broken humanity, lost in darkness and sin.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 9:36 that “When he (Jesus) saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” God responds to faith yes, but he also responds to human suffering. It was not our faith that brought Jesus to this world, it was His compassion for lost humanity. The Bible says in Romans 5:8 that “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

God is not the kind of God who sits on His throne from afar watching all of humanity struggle and suffer. We serve a God who came in human flesh, who suffered for us, who died a criminals death to pay the price for our sin. God cares deeply about human sin, suffering and pain. Romans 8:32 tells us “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

God did not spare His only Son. When Jesus was suffering on that Cross, God did nothing to stop it. Of course God the Father suffered just as much as His Son did as He watched Him suffer and die, because God was thinking of you and me. And God who did not spare His own Son did all of these things because He was thinking of us lost in sin. He was thinking of our suffering.

In our recent Gospel Event in Brumado, Brazil, a young man came to testify how a large cancerous tumor on his neck disappeared when we prayed for the sick in Jesus name. That young man was healed because Jesus came to pay the price for his sin, and the effect of sin, sickness and disease. So many others came to testify that God had healed them. So many had their sins forgiven and received eternal life. Why? Because He is the God who cares!

Today I want to encourage you that God cares about your suffering and struggles! He has paid the price for you. He is not some distant, far away God who doesn’t care about what you are going through. He is right there, suffering with you, suffering for you. I’m believing God today He will show you the depths of His love for you and bring healing, health and life to you. Don’t you give up today, a miracle is coming your way
