Follow-up Programs
ImageOur follow-up programs are the ministry distinctive of our ministry. We have developed programs to help local Pastors do the job of follow up. It is important to ensure that new converts, are provided with adequate follow-up and discipleship so they can be led to a place of maturity in Christ. We are in the process of implementing this system and what follows is our proposed strategy.

Based on numbers estimated expected to attend the campaign event, a follow up booklet is prepared in the local language. If there is an organization which provides free New Testaments, details of this are be provided in the follow-up booklet. If no such organization exists, a new testament is provided in the local language.

All new converts are contacted by local churches. New converts are provided a follow-up card which is filled out and distributed to local church Pastors. Pastors then contact new converts within a few days of the campaign event. If it is deemed necessary, a discipleship program is distributed to the local pastors in their own language. In addition, training in the use of these materials is provided. A member of BREA staff remains at the conclusion of the campaign for two-four weeks to ensure the Pastors have support and aid with respect to the follow-up process.
A discipleship program has been prepared by the founder as a prototype for use in evangelism efforts. There are a tremendous amount of resources available for the disciple-making process, many of them have come to similar conclusions regarding the most appropriate sequence in respect of disciple-making.

The discipleship process can function in a group setting as well as a one-on-one setting. Whether it is on an individual or small group basis, it is important that there be an intentional process of discipleship, the formation of meaningful relationships and a system of accountability.

The discipleship process should never be hurried, people should be given time to make solid decisions.  If the process is hurried and we get ahead of God or the readiness of the disciple, the process can abort. To follow is a list of suggested training objectives which the program could cover:

1: Assurance of salvation
2: Scope and significance of salvation
3: Filling/Baptism of the Holy Spirit
4: Identity in Christ
5: Basic growth principles
6: Fellowship
7: The Word
8: Prayer
9: Witnessing
10: Spiritual warfare
11: Time management
12: Vision
